Big bowls are piling up and more to come in the next few weeks. Ash, maple and a mystery wood are shown. Today I'll be digging into some Royal Paulonia(princess tree) and making long narrow bowls from it.

It's sad to see such a beautiful tree have be cut down. It is however a special feeling to be able to do something with the wood to keep the memories alive.

The tree was cut down in the morning and the bowl was carved later that afternoon.

Once again it's been a while.
A friend from the market was looking for a long display bowl as you see here. Cedar about 32"x7"x2". What a contrast on that beautiful counter top. Thank you for the pictures Diane.

What a start for the Year. First quarter: throw back out then finish off with bronchitis. Second quarter has to be better.
The tables are empty and just to sick to be in the shop (safely) making things. All out of cherry, maple and walnut anyway. I do have a bit of that box elder left. Hoping to make some nice mortar & pestles along with soup scoops.
